REGISTRATION

This page integrates the core philosophy and mechanics of the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Design Excellence Awards (DEA) with the specific post-2020 themes of VISION, ARTISTRY, and UNIVERSALITY, evaluating notable architectural building projects completed since January 1, 2020.

ELIGIBILITY & MECHANICS

Eligibility: Actual, physically-built projects worldwide, designed by a UAP member in good standing. Only the Architect-of-Record (AOR) can submit.

Timeframe (Original DEA): Projects completed and built within the period covering 2020 to the present, which are currently occupied and in use.

Exclusions: Single-family detached houses are ineligible for submission in the Residential category. Relatives up to the third degree, current professional partners of the jury, UAP-DEA Committee members, UAP National Board/Executive Directors, and UAP College of Fellows Officers for the current fiscal year are ineligible.

Submission Limit: Only one project per category, with a maximum of two projects in all categories. An architect may only win one award per DEA batch.

Anonymity: Submissions must conceal all references to the architecture firm or designer38. Failure to comply will result in disqualification and forfeiture of the entry fee.

Renovated Projects: Allowed only if they involve 85% renovation. “Before” and “after” photos are required.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The Project/Jury PDF must be A3 size, in landscape orientation, with a maximum of 11 pages and a file size of no more than 10MB. It must be organized as follows:

Title Page (I): Project Name, Location, and Category (without author identification).A project may be entered in only one category.

Design Concept Statement (Page 1): A maximum of 1,000 words describing “Site,” “Program,” and “Solution,” discussing key design, technical, sustainable, and social aspects. This should also indicate the SDG targets to which the project responds or is aligned.

Visuals (Pages 2-10): Must include Site Plan and Floor Plans to scale. Encouraged visuals include elevations, details, renderings, and professional-quality project photos of all exposed facades and rooms.

Supplemental Information (Page 11, Optional): For technical information not already covered, such as restrictions, outcomes, historic preservation, energy considerations, construction costs, and size.

The entrant must conceal any references to the architecture firm or designer. Revealing the authorship of the project, such as through file names and photo credits, will result in the disqualification of the submission.

The registration form will be accessible via QR code from December 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026.
